Return to Marysville series

Marysville was burnt out during the 2009 Black Saturday fires in which 34 people died in the area.

The Australian bush has a regenerative power to it that many of the gums trees have evolved such that they actually need the heat of a bush fire to germinate and release seeds and epicormic buds allowing the rebirth of the gums. This contrast of black and green is quite a sight to behold.

This series was taken out the window of a moving car as it moved from Marysville back into Melbourne taking a healthy dose of inspiration from Ernst Haas [link]
